After thoughtful research, our first product was a cork yoga mat, selected for its integrity. Cork is harvested without cutting the tree, allowing it to regenerate naturally. It represented balance: the ability to take without destroying, to use without depleting.
From this one believe, Eco Black continues to create premium performance yoga essentials defined by material awareness and minimalist discipline. Each piece is shaped by restraint free from excess, grounded in purpose, and built to endure.
The Origin
Eco Black was founded in Amman, Jordan, during a time when the world felt uncertain and fragile.
While working in luxury hospitality, I watched industries pause and routines collapse. It became clear how quickly systems could fail, and how dependent we were on consumption without awareness. I began asking a simple question: what if sustainability was not a reaction, but a standard?
I personally sourced and imported our first collection of cork yoga mats from India. What began as an informal launch through Instagram and Facebook quickly became something more. The response was immediate. Pre-orders filled. The community understood.
From the beginning, Eco Black was positioned as premium not only in material, but in discipline. The packaging was intentional. The design restrained. The message clear.
It was never about selling mats. It was about setting a standard.
The Evolution
In 2021, Eco Black crossed continents.
Relocating to the United States meant starting over, in a new enormous market, within a new landscape of competition and expectation. The environment was different. The audience broader. The standards higher.
For a time, the brand shifted. The focus moved toward maintaining presence rather than refining identity. It was a period of transition, necessary, but incomplete.
What remained unchanged was the standard. The move to the United States did not dilute the vision, it sharpened it.
Today, Eco Black evolves into what it was always meant to become: a refined yoga brand built on material integrity, minimalist design, and quiet confidence.
